Excellent quality dishes are going to spoil your palate in the Michelin-starred restaurants of South Tyrol
Michelin stars are a quality award that has been given to exceptional restaurants since 1926. The list is compiled in the Michelin Guide, a hotel and travel guide that is published annually in different country versions: a maximum of 3 Michelin stars are awarded. In the German edition, the award is described as follows: 1 star - ‘Very good cuisine that deserves the reader's attention’, 2 stars - ‘Excellent cuisine, worth a detour’, 3 stars - ‘One of the best cuisines, worth a trip’!
Also South Tyrol boasts 21 Michelin-starred restaurants listed in the current Italian guide "Guida Michelin Italia 2026". Here you can find the starred restaurants with a total of 25 Michelin stars:

Sustainability is also a key focus in South Tyrol: the list of restaurants already awarded a Green Michelin Star has grown by two. This award honours establishments that are outstanding in terms of sustainability and resource-saving practices.
