Circular walk in search of the sun and the first signs of spring on the Dürer Path between Laghetti and Pochi di Salorno

The start of spring in March is a great time for a walk in the South Tyrolean Bassa Atesina, heading up to the vineyards of Pochi di Salorno. The starting point of our walk is the village centre of Laghetti, south of Egna. We follow the "Sentiero del Dürer" signpost towards Pochi di Salorno. This path leads uphill, first along a paved road and then on a forest track.
Albrecht Dürer is said to have walked this route during his journey to Italy. The path leads into a valley to the Roman Bridge before reaching the wine hills of Pochi di Salorno. Liverworts and spring snowflakes announce the awakening of nature. We hike just a section of this trail. In its entirety, the themed path between Laghetti in the South Tyrolean Bassa Atesina and the Castello di Segonzano in Trentino spans a full 28 kilometres and takes about 10 hours to walk.
After a stop at Perkeo's Speckstube in Pochi di Salorno - near which the Sculpture Garden is also located - we walk past the church to path no. 3a. This route takes us back down into the valley. Passing the Baita Garba hut, also known as Garbenhütte, we walk between the forest and fruit orchards directly back to Laghetti. We arrive there after two and a half hours.
In March, this walk gets plenty of sunshine from midday onwards. It is ideal for enjoying the first warming rays of the South Tyrolean sun.
