Südtirol Drei Zinnen Alpine Run

Every year, the Drei Zinnen Alpine Run invites thousands of athletes to one of the most beautiful mountain runs in the Alps: It takes the athletes from the village centre of Sesto over a length of 17 km to the feet of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo. The run leads through the Val Fiscalina valley to the Piano Fiscalina and the Fondovalle Mountain Huts, and continues to the Comici and the Pian di Cengia Mountain Huts - in this section on a serpentine path leading up to 2,575 m a.s.l. above the Laghi dei Piani lakes. Therefore, the top athletes overcome a difference in altitude of 1,333 metres. The top results are under 1.5 hours. This route is also a beautiful mountain tour in summer.

Also a children's and youth programme is part of it: It spreads over both event days and includes running rounds of different lengths on asphalt, gravel and meadow terrain around the Monte Elmo valley station. There are 7 age groups. But the award ceremony and the supporting programme are by no means the end of the event: In connection with the Drei Zinnen Alpine Run, the Drei Zinnen Ski Raid takes place, a ski touring race of a very special kind in the heart of the Dolomites.
