Medieval Knight Games South Tyrol

Back to the time of knights and damsels - the Medieval Knight Games in the Val Venosta bring excitement for everyone this August

Every year in mid-August, you can experience something truly special at the foot of Coira Castle in Sluderno. For nearly two decades, knights, squires and damsels have gathered here annually to demonstrate how they lived in days gone by. Open fires, giant wooden tubs used as baths, fortune tellers, craftspeople, spectacular mock battles and flight demonstrations featuring owls and falcons are just some of the highlights that captivate children and adults alike.

The festival begins with a grand parade featuring all participants and their horses, while the evenings conclude with a night show. A medieval market presents many interesting items for sale, and the knights' camp provides an exciting insight into the daily lives of people from that era.

Three-day tickets are cheaper when purchased in advance. This entry price covers the children's programme, including camel riding and a historic play area with hay jumping. There is plenty of food and drink available, such as sweets, butterbeer and meat specialities. Tip: Bring sun protection! Information and reservations: info@ritterspiele.it.
