You can experience wine culture and conviviality every October in the alleys of Termeno
One of the most atmospheric wine festivals in South Tyrol takes place where wine is produced: in Termeno on the Wine Road. After the grape harvest, in October, the traffic-free village centre turns into a wine counter: The wineries of Termeno offer the world-famous Gewurztraminer, the dark Lagrein, the complex Pinot Noir and a variety of other exquisite wines.
At the entrance, you can borrow a wine glass for a deposit, and the delicious wines are then offered on a self-service basis. Otherwise, admission is free. In addition, there are some autumnal delicacies such as roasted chestnuts, apple fritters and doughnuts, because Toerggelen also takes place here in the south in October. Part of the event includes a music programme and the free shuttle bus connecting Termeno with Caldaro, San Giuseppe al Lago, Cortaccia and Ora.
The Traminer Weingassl begins in the afternoon - earlier on the same day, the Cultural-Culinary Vineyard Hike takes place on the hills of Termeno: Here, you are accompanied on a guided walk through the historic village centre. The route passes San Giacomo and leads to a typical inn in Termeno, where lunch is eaten together, naturally accompanied by fine wines from Termeno.
The Traminer Weingassl opens immediately afterwards. In the mood for wines from Termeno in other months too? Then we recommend the GewürzTRAMINer Wineday event in May, the vineyard walk on the Gewurztraminer Trail, which can be done at any time, or a visit to the Local Museum "Hoamet Museum Tramin", where a section is dedicated to wine - including a collection of historic Gewurztraminer from all over the world.
