Schwemmalm Ultimo Ski Area

A real challenge in the Schwemmalm Skiing Area, the home area of the alpine skiing star Dominik Paris, is the Mutegg Slope

The 2,600 m high Schwemmalm, offering a wonderful panorama on the Ortles Alps, is becoming more and more popular with winter sports enthusiasts. The valley station of the gondola lift is located in Pracupola and features a large parking space. You will see it on the right side of the Ultimo road - on the left side, however, the cross-country ski track leads past and the ice skating ground can be found. Also the old valley station is still in operation, accessible on a narrow road: It is located above the village near the Breiteben Chairlift, where the valley run ends.

The steepest one of the 25 km of ski slopes is the Mutegg Slope on Mt. Muta, which takes you from the highest point of the skiing area to the Schwemmalm di Fuori Hut. The longest one, however, is the almost 4 km long Asmol downhill run. The skiing area is also known and appreciated for its cosy ski huts and its family friendliness: The Bärenhöhle (Bear Cave) ski kindergarten of the Schwemmalm Ski School helps with the first steps on the skis, furthermore there's the Schwemmy Kinderwelt near the new valley station, right next to the M13 Ski Hut and the Café Seawies.

One of the cabins of the new gondola lift is dedicated to the local ski star Dominik Paris, which was born here. The Schwemmalm is also a popular training area for other ski stars such as Lindsey Vonn and Giulia Mancuso. The steep Moscha toboggan run with a gradient of 22.5 % and the Val d'Ultimo cross-country ski track in the valley complete the winter offer of the Schwemmalm.
