A street art festival of the special kind takes place in Merano in June, ideal for a family day trip.
Every year, a particular event for families and those who love street arts takes place in the Merano. It is called Asfaltart, and has become a platform for national and international artists, ideal for presenting themselves and their skills to a large audience.
Jugglers, fire-eaters, acrobats, clowns, mono-cyclists, comics and dancers, the programme is varied every year again and there is something for every taste. Of course there is also music and entertainment. For one whole weekend, Merano stands on its head and transforms into a huge stage. By the way, there are also performances staged at the natural pond of Gargazzone. And if you would like to present your skills to the public, there is also an open-stage in the off-space.
This hilarious festival is organised by the association Kunstverein Kallmünz in cooperation with the Meraner Altstadtvereinigung, Mairania 857, the Teatro Pratiko and Animativa, a circus group.
