In June, the Lido Merano hosts a swim meeting attended by some of the world’s best swimmers
A top-class international event celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026: The Cool Swim Meeting is held for three days in June at the Merano swimming pool. It takes place across two venues: the indoor pool, which is open from autumn until spring, and the outdoor pool on the Via Lido road, which opens its gates for the summer season at the end of May.
Some of the best swimmers in the world come here for these three days. The Italian national team attends a training camp in Merano as part of the Swim Meeting. The Olympic pool at the Lido becomes a competition venue: Olympic champions and world champions such as Gregorio Paltrinieri, Thomas Ceccon, Ilaria Bianchi, and Laura Letrari have already been here.
The competitions are divided into five sessions, with two taking place on Friday and Saturday respectively, and the fifth on Sunday. The opening ceremony by the pool takes place at the end of the first events, followed by the Australian elimination race. Member clubs of FIN, World Aquatics and European Aquatics can participate, and the event is broadcast live on TV.
