Lumagica Merano

A luminous park lights up the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle above the old town of Merano during Advent and the Christmas holidays. The event, which is also connected to the centre by a bus service, perfectly complements the Merano Christmas Market. Throughout the market's duration - from late November to early January - light installations and interactive elements invite you to discover the cherished destinations of the Austrian Empress Elisabeth.

The experience under the theme "Sissi's Journey Around the World" is particularly impressive after dark. That is why the light park opens in the late afternoon as dusk falls over the spa town, and remains open until around 9 pm. As you walk along the paths where, in just a few months, the most magnificent flowers will bloom again, you will be immersed in a world of atmospheric scenes.

The Lumagica concept aims to appeal to people of all ages and is internationally successful. The light shows also take place in other locations, including Innsbruck, Munich, and countries such as Poland, Japan and Canada. In Italy, Merano is the only venue.
