The Val Gardena Music Festival takes place in the snow: The Val Gardena Ski Area in the Dolomites serves as the natural stage
In March, the Val Gardena Skiing Area turns into a concert stage as rock music rings out from mountain huts, pubs and après-ski venues. This is not just any music, but top-class live music surrounded by the white slopes, the icy grey Dolomites and the blue sky of the Val Gardena.
The Val Gardena Music Festival has heralded the popular spring skiing season for over a decade. This period marks the final weeks of winter here in the heart of the famous Sellaronda. For eight full days, a total of 13 bands - including The Killbilly's, The Giggers, the Spolpo Blues Band and Melissa Naschenweng - heat up the atmosphere around Selva Gardena.
Names such as Mad Dark Lady, Waydlee, Maria De Val, Tony Sghembo, Living Dolls and The Killbilly's have been announced for the 2026 edition of "Rock the Dolomites". On the final day of the festival, skiing takes over from rock music: as the Rock the Dolomites Festival concludes, the Südtirol Gardenissima, the longest giant slalom in the Dolomites, begins.
