In April, the spa town of Merano becomes a yoga centre: A vegan bistro and master classes are part of the event
The spa town of Merano has attracted guests seeking their own well-being in the Mediterranean-alpine climate for centuries. While fir, herbal and sulphur baths were offered in the thermal baths in the 19th century, apple treatments and electrotherapy followed in the 20th century. Now yoga has been added to the mix, promoting holistic well-being through its combination of body postures, breathing exercises and meditation.
The Yoga Meeting Merano takes place on a Saturday and Sunday in April at the Kurhaus Merano along the Lungo Passirio Promenade. Admission to the exhibition areas, lectures, meetings and performances is free: Prior registration is only required for the open yoga classes.
Yoga mats can be borrowed free of charge at the REYOGA stand. Food and drink at Bistro YM, where master chef Debora Meduri creates vegan and vegetarian dishes that support local supply chains, are available for a charge. There is also a fee for the seminar programme featuring the Master Yoga Classes and workshops - you can register for these online at yogameeting.org.
Each meeting has a special motto: In 2026 it is "Healing Harmony". The project is curated by the cultural association Artè, which has been committed to spreading yoga since 1997, and is organised together with the Merano Tourist Board. Everyone is invited - those who have been practising yoga for a long time as well as anyone curious to see what it is all about.
