Plan de Corones Skiing Area

The Plan de Corones in the Val Pusteria valley: World Cup tested and part of the Dolomiti Superski carousel

The Plan de Corones (Kronplatz), the iconic peak overlooking Brunico, attracts visitors with its nearly treeless slopes and 121 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes. The ski area is accessible via 31 modern lifts from Riscone, Valdaora, Perca, and San Vigilio di Marebbe. In the 2024/25 skiing season, the new Plateau 8-seater chairlift replaces the former 6-seater chairlift. The Plan de Corones is also connected to the Alta Badia and the 3 Zinnen Dolomites Ski Areas: The Piculin ski bus runs every 20 minutes between the Plan de Corones and the Alta Badia area, and the new Ski Pustertal Express runs every 30 minutes between the Ried valley station at the Plan de Corones and the new train station in Versciaco, directly at the Monte Elmo valley station.

Once you reach the 2,275-metre summit, a magnificent view unfolds, encompassing the Zillertal Alps to the north and the Dolomites to the south. In addition to the numerous ski slopes, cultural highlights such as the LUMEN Museum of Mountain Photography and the MMM Corones, part of Reinhold Messner's museum project, invite you to visit. You'll also find the new Plan de Corones Snow Park nestled between the Belvedere and Plateau slopes at an altitude of 2,230 metres.

The Plan de Corones Skiing Area is one of the few ski resorts in the Alps with six black pistes, five of which belong to the Black Five Challenge: Sylvester, Herrnegg, Pre da Peres, Erta, and the already "Best Black Run" awarded Piculin. The sixth black run, Sorega, is a variant of the Erta. The valley runs down to the villages offer a particularly enjoyable experience. Two toboggan runs complete the offering. The Plan de Corones is part of the Dolomiti Superski network.
