The Merano Grape Festival, one of the most famous harvest festivals of South Tyrol, takes place in October.
After a long and hard period of work in the vineyards, it is high time to celebrate the grape harvest in Merano. Highlight of the festival is the parade on Sunday, where decorated carriages, music groups from near and far, as well as folk groups and “Schützen”, parade in the streets of the city.
Starting from the city gate “Porta Venosta”, the parade proceeds on the promenade of Merano and ends at Piazza del Teatro. However, there is much to see both for adults and children, including traditional costumes, Haflinger horses and much more.
