Asfaltart - Street Art Festival

A very special event awaits families and performing arts enthusiasts every year in the spa town of Merano - Asfaltart. This is the name of the street performers' festival where national and international artists from the scene have enjoyed performing for several years.

Jugglers, fire breathers, clowns, stilt walkers and unicyclists, comedians and dancers - the programme is impressive. Admission is free for spectators, and there is also an official Asfaltart App. The 20th edition of the festival will be celebrated in 2026: Normally, artists can apply to participate in Asfaltart, but the selection for the anniversary edition is being made exclusively through active research and personal scouting.

The kick-off takes place before the festival in Scena, where you can enjoy the first impressive performances. Afterwards, the spa town is turned upside down for a weekend, transforming the Old Town of Merano and the Piazza Terme square into a large stage. A craft market is held along the Lungopassirio Promenade, and naturally, food and drink are well catered for.
