Contemporary and classical music fills the air at Castel Tirolo in high summer
A soirée is essentially an evening gathering, and this is exactly what Tyrol Castle hosts on five Thursday evenings from mid-June to mid-July. The castle's inner courtyard serves as the main venue, distinguished by its excellent acoustics and historic setting.
For over three decades, the "Soireen auf Schloss Tirol" in Tirolo village have attracted lovers of music and culture. You can hear musical styles from diverse regions and eras here: Jazz, Folk, Minimalism and Klezmer are all part of the programme. Past performers include the Dreamers' Circus ensemble playing Nordic Folk from Denmark, Sweden and Iceland, the Breinschmid, Schmid & Donchev ensemble with Jazz and Groove, and the Bozen Brass ensemble performing Chanson, Country, Alpine Folk, Baroque and Rock. It offers a spectrum of sound from across Europe!
The events are organised by the South Tyrolean Museum of Culture and Provincial History together with the Tourism Association. To ensure a pleasant journey, a free shuttle service runs every year from the tourist information office to the castle. The short walk back to the village square is then lit by torches.
