Kunst Meran - Merano Arte

A centre for contemporary art has opened beneath the Arcades of Merano

Kunst Meran - Merano Arte is more than just a museum. Located beneath the historic arcades, it serves as a vibrant meeting place for the local art scene and offers a diverse programme. The venue combines a gallery, museum, and event space all under one roof.

Here, enthusiasts of contemporary and avant-garde art gather for exhibitions, performances, readings, concerts, seminars, and workshops. Architecture, visual arts, literature, music, photography, and new media are the core themes explored at Kunst Meran - Merano Arte.

The inviting Kunsthaus Café rounds off what's on offer. The museum is housed in the beautifully restored Cassa di Risparmio House beneath the Merano Arcades. Three floors and 500 sqm of exhibition space accommodate both large exhibitions and events for up to 70 people. Since 2004, Kunst Meran - Merano Arte has been a member of AMACI, the Italian association of museums for contemporary art. The top floor also features a studio apartment for international artists participating in the "Artist-in-Residence" programme.

In this way, the museum not only promotes emerging artists but also connects Merano internationally. How to get there: The arcades in the Old Town of Merano are a pedestrian zone. Parking is available nearby. The nearest bus stops are Piazza Teatro and Corso Libertà.
