Tractor and Vespa Museum

The private collection of tractors and Vespas at the Ungerichthof in Caines is a highlight for young and old visitors

Rare and old tractors and motor scooters can be admired in an outbuilding of the Ungericht Inn in Caines (Kuens) at the entrance to the Val Passiria valley. More than 60 vintage tractors can be found here, including 40 Porsche-Diesel and 5 Porsche-Diesel Master of various years of construction, attracting fans young and old all year round. The oldest tractor among the red, green and light blue treasures is a "Balilla" from 1929.

The owner of the Ungericht Farm, Franz Laimer Pixner, was already enthusiastic about tractors as a young boy, which were also used by the fire brigade at that time, for example to pull the fire pump to the incident scene. They shaped his childhood and became a passion for collecting. In addition, he is also enthusiastic about Vespas, and has collected about 35 scooters from the Italian company Piaggio. Highlights are the Vespa Struzzo from 1956, and a Vespa with sidecar.

By the way: The owner of the Ungerichthof, Erika Laimer Pixner, is enthusiastic about Schildkröt dolls. Flea markets and gifts, among other things, helped her to amass an impressive collection of 200 dolls, including well-known models such as Ursel, Bärbel, Inge, Erika, Chistl, Elli, Baby Strampelchen and Hans. This collection can also be admired at the Ungerichthof. And how to reach the Tractor and Vespa Museum (Traktoren- und Vespa-Museum)? The Ungericht Inn is located along the Caines Road, about 7 km from Merano. There is a car park at the inn. In Caines there are also Earth Pyramids which can be reached in a pleasant hike on the Earth Pyramid Trail.
