Rablà Train World

In the Rablà Train World near Parcines, exhibiting detailed miniatures, adults become kids again

Wouldn't it be great to play with all the little trains and figurines of the Train World Rablà! Well, unfortunately that is not possible, but you can admire the great number of landscapes, buildings and trails that have been replicated in detail in the Train World Rablà - "Eisenbahnwelt Rabland" in German, "Mondotreno Rablà" in Italian - on a surface of 1,000 sqm. Also the colourful Val Venosta Train is exhibited in this special museum. The idea for the Train World dates back to 2004 when the South Tyrolean guest Dr. Gunther Steitz suggested to exhibit his collection of model trains in the barn of the Hotel Restaurant Hauswirt in Rablà and to open this collection to the public.

In 2008 the barn was reconstructed and the creation of a South Tyrol version for the Train World was commissioned. In summer 2009, this meanwhile popular family destination was inaugurated: 800 m tracks with 70 trains, 400 vehicles, 12,000 figurines and day-night simulations await you. The exhibition is one of the largest private collections of Europe and at the same time the largest digitalised model train exhibition of Italy. Superlatives only! On the upper floor, there's the model of South Tyrol in miniature, from the Brennero to the Val Venosta in the scale 1:87. The fantasy world called "Mittelgebirge" (low mountain range) as well as a children's corner, in which kids can direct a train and be a locomotive engineer, complete the adventure.

The online-shop of the Train World offers the coloured South Tyrol busses and the special model H0 of the Val Venosta Railway. And how to reach the Train World? It can be found in the village centre and offers a parking space. Furthermore you can reach it by bike on the Val Venosta Cycle Path or by the Val Venosta Train (and a 10-minute walk), getting off at the Rablà station.
