Museum of Everyday Culture

The museum is located in one of the last unaltered arcade houses of Egna. Built between 1300 and 1600, these elegant arcades feature impressive buildings. Inside the house itself, furniture, accessories, and toys provide a glimpse into middle-class life during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Spread across four floors, the walk-through rooms are the centrepiece of the museum and the collection of Anna Grandi Müller. She spent decades gathering the exhibited items from attics and flea markets. Visiting the museum feels like stepping into a bygone world.

Visitors walk through an authentic residential house to see how people actually lived, cooked, worked, and spent their time. Rooms include a needlework and dressing room, a classroom, a doll room, a smokehouse kitchen, and a room for religious devotion.

How do you get there? Located in the pedestrian zone under the arcades, the Museum of Everyday Culture is easy to reach on foot. Parking is available just outside. By public transport, you can take bus route 120 (Bolzano-Egna) to reach the place.
