Bolzano has its own platform for photography: the Foto Forum in the Via Weggenstein road near the historic centre. The association "foto-forum / South Tyrolean Society for Photography" organises seven exhibitions every year entirely dedicated to the works of historical and contemporary photographers and photo artists, showing the difference and changes in materials, technique and content in the course of time.
The work of the Foto Forum Gallery - "Galerie Foto Forum" in German, "Galleria Foto Forum" in Italian - which was founded in 1991, also includes lectures on the individual exhibitions, presents photo books in a suitable setting and releases several publications every year. The gallery itself extends over two floors and is adapted for handicapped people: The orientation and size of the rooms allow you to view the works both up close and at a greater distance.
And how to reach the Foto Forum Gallery? The Via Weggenstein road is located on the edge of the old town of Bolzano, very close to the South Tyrol Museum of Natural History. Most bus lines stop at the Piazza Walther square, just a few minutes' walk away. There is also an underground car park. In summer there are also workshops for kids.
