At 1,585 m a.s.l., high up at the sunny slopes of S. Cristina, the listed farm Mesc da Paratoni with its farm inn is located.
The Mesc da Paratoni farm impresses with a gorgeous view on the surrounding Dolomites. It was built in 1232 and has now been renovated with the utmost regard to historical elements and opened to the public as a farm inn. The two historic parlours invite to enjoy typical Ladin specialities.
A fixed menu is served here at the farm, consisting of the following dishes depending on the season: home-baked bread, butter, grey cheese, pickle, wild herbs pesto, nettle soup, "Erdäpfelblattlen" with kraut, "Tirtlen", "Schlutzkrapfen", Pressknödel dumplings, "Bales da fersëiles", "Bales tla panicia". On request, beef goulash and veal or hare meat are also available. A sweet finish (yoghurt, homemade semi-frozen cakes, "Äpfelkiechl" and "Buchteln") is a must.
The home-made juices, such as mint, elderberry-lavender, strawberry-melissa and basil-melissa correspond excellently with the delicious food.
Access route: Coming from Ponte Gardena drive to the valley station "Col Raiser" in S. Cristina. Here turn right and at the first junction turn left into the Insomstraße road (underpass). Cross the bridge and park on the right after 20 m (follow the sign). From here it takes about 7 minutes on foot to the farm inn.
