The mountainside to the north of Naturno, the Monte Sole or Sun Mountain, impresses with its steppe vegetation, the mountain farms on the slopes and the pre-Christian settlement sites. The Unterstell Cable Car brings hikers up here, but those who feel up to the challenge can tackle the road from the village of Naturno right up to the summit heights during the Oetzi Trailrun too.

It is held in April, and its routes lead through the Gruppo di Tessa Nature Park on the Monte Sole. They are well-marked and professionally organised. Refreshment stations and experienced medical staff are on site. You can choose between the:

• Sunny Mountain Trail (30 kilometres and 2,100 metres of elevation gain)
  from Naturno via the Merano High Route to the "1,000 Steps Gorge" with suspension bridge
• Skyrace Naturno (15 kilometres and 1,150 metres of elevation gain)
  from Naturno via trail no. 6 to the Merano High Route
• Just for Fun / Speed-Trail (8 kilometres and 400 metres of elevation gain)
  as a shorter route for beginners or young people
• Unterstell Vertical (4.2 kilometres and 760 metres of elevation gain)
  as a vertical run directly to the mountain station of the Unterstell Cable Car (the day before)

Runners of various ability levels can take part, although the number of participants is limited. All participants receive a finisher medal to honour their achievement.
