The oldest village festival in the country, the popular Egna Street Festival, takes place under the historic arcades of Egna
More than 50 years ago, Egna organised a true folk festival under its arcades for the first time. The arches, which normally invite you to shop and drink coffee and provide welcome shade in summer, become a fairground on three days in August for the Laubenfest Neumarkt.
Numerous associations such as the "Schuhplattler" and various music bands provide a culinary and entertaining experience in the idyllic centre of Egna. Live music is offered every evening on the three large stages. DJs perform with hot rhythms in the courtyards and cellars. The Egna Street Festival weekend starts with the evening parade on Friday.
On the following day, there is a parade through Egna with the tapping of a barrel on the village square, followed by live bands playing on the village square, church square and under the arcades. On Sunday, there is a morning pint and the traditional balloon flight. Of course, there will also be a children's programme on all three days - an event for the whole family.
