The festival, which for 25 years has transformed Bolzano into a meeting point for contemporary culture, skilfully combines projects involving music, dance, performance, film and visual arts with unusual locations. Every year, Transart invites you to concerts of classical or electronic music, performances, film screenings and art exhibitions - together with the audience, it discovers contemporary artistic forms of expression. Starting from Bolzano - the 1st edition in 2001 took place in the industrial zone - the festival today reaches the entire Trentino-South Tyrol region.

The venues are abandoned industrial halls, former barracks, mountain huts, production and commercial areas, railway depots and car parks from north to south. Some well-known places are also included, such as the Filmclub and the Bolzano Fair. Over the years, Transart has collaborated with significant artists such as Marina Abramović, Beat Furrer, the Klangforum Wien, Tokyo Contemporary Dance and Tomoko Mukayama, as well as other festivals like MaerzMusik Berlin, an international festival for sound-based art forms, and Klangspuren Schwaz.

It is organised by the "Transart" association based in Bolzano. Private companies, cultural institutions and public bodies support the festival. There is a Transart Lover and a Transart Young festival pass, and tickets can be purchased at the Municipal Theatre of Bolzano.
