In the heart of the Vallelunga, a little side valley branches off, where a true paradise can be found: the Malga dei Buoi (Ochsenberg).

Starting point of our hike is Caprone in Vallelunga, in the Val Venosta, where we follow the marker no. 14 towards the Malga Ochsenberg hut. After the first metres a little path branches from the marked route, it is a shortcut up to the hut but it is very steep. For us it seems a bit difficult to image a little paradise here, as the first ascent is quite steep and nothing special. But after about half an hour of walking, we are surrounded by an inherent natural beauty, which is really amazing.
The Malga Ochsenberg with the St. Wendelin Chapel is located at 2,160 m a.s.l.. amidst a wonderful little valley. For our way back there are two possibilities now, either on foot again or by sledge.
