Relaxing winter hike in the Val di Fleres valley with a toboggan run from the Allriss Mountain Hut

At the entrance to Fleres, a side valley of the Upper Valle Isarco near Vipiteno, we park our car and start the winter hike along the forest road signposted 'Malga Allriss' resp. 'Allriss Alm'.
In winter, the forest road turns into a three-kilometre-long toboggan run leading through snow-covered woods on the shaded side of the Fleres Valley. The moderately steep ascent takes us along five hairpin bends up to the Allriss Hut at 1,534 metres above sea level, managed by the family of former ski racer Patrick Staudacher, the 2007 Super-G world champion in Åre.
Here we take a break before setting off on the toboggan ride. The route is among the toboggan runs in the Valle Isarco. The track - also suitable for families and less experienced tobogganers - has a pleasant gradient: fast enough to be fun, yet without high risk.
The descent rounds off an enjoyable winter day in the Upper Valle Isarco. This tour is also worthwhile as a summer hike - starting from the Allriss car park near Sant'Antonio di Fleres.

- The overall time shown above refers to the walking time only, not including breaks or stops. The return journey is made by sledge here - if you walk back, it takes longer. According to Legislative Decree 96/2025, helmets have been mandatory for everyone when tobogganing since the 1st of November 2025: A CE-certified ski helmet (EN 1077) is required.
