If you only have time half a day but nevertheless want to do a beautiful winter walk in the Alpi di Siusi, this walking tour is a great hint. By car we go to Sarentino and there further towards the district Auen. We leave our car at the Rifugio Sarentino (1,611 m a.s.l.) which is closed in winter.
Here we follow the path no. 2 which leads us towards the Malga Auener Alm (1,799 m a.s.l.). Shortly before we arrive at the hut the path becomes a bit steeper but half of the way there is already done. Proceeding along the same path we reach the Giogo dei Prati (Auener Jöchl) 90 minutes later. For those who want to carry on there is the possibility to proceed to the so-called “Rocky-Men” ("Stoanernen Mandln"), this takes another 20 minutes. The way back is done along the same route.
