video : A night at the Odle
On this winter day, we decide to go to the Val di Funes and drive to the head of the valley, towards the Malga Zannes (1,680 m), where we park our car at the parking space that is subject to charge. On foot we start our tour to the Malga Zannes on the path no. 33, walking across the snowy Valle Ciancenon. Across the forest, we continue walking the way up, past the Kirchwiesl and numerous signposts, and finally we reach the tree line. In the open country, we reach the Malga Gampenalm mountain hut. This walk is also a favourite route for those who love snow-shoeing.
This mountain hut is located in the Puez-Odle Nature Park and is above all in winter a popular hiking destination. In winter the mountain hut with the cosy Swiss pine parlour is open from the end of December to the beginning of March from 10 am to 5 pm. On request, it also opens in the evening. Open every day in Christmas time, afterwards closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. At the mountain hut you can also rent toboggans in order to enjoy the 3.5 km long valley run, starting directly at the mountain hut. It is also suitable for kids. If you would like to walk back down, take the same trail for the way back. Our recommendation: enjoy the sunset at the mountain hut.
