Biathlon World Cup in Anterselva

At the end of January, the Valle di Anterselva with its famous lake welcomes the stars of the international biathlon scene

In 2026, the stadium will be a venue for the Milano-Cortina Winter Games: The biathlon competitions will take place in the Südtirol Arena Alto Adige, which has been modernised for the Games. The World Cup in Anterselva will be organised again from January 14 to 17, 2027.

Every year in January, international sports stars gather at the Biathlon Stadium Anterselva, the Südtirol Arena Alto Adige in Anterselva di Sopra. It is the highest-altitude competition venue in the IBU World Cup circuit with space for up to 15,000 spectators: The seats and standing area L are fixed stands, while area M can be added specifically for events. The surrounding landscape usually presents itself as a winter paradise in gleaming white during these weeks.

The Biathlon World Cup in Anterselva kicks off with the Short Individual for men or women; the second Individual, the Single Mixed Relay and the Mixed Relay follow in the days after, concluding with the Mass Start. The event is spread over several days, including four days of competition. The grand award ceremony then follows at the weekend.

The supporting programme is also impressive: The Anterselva Lounge with its excellent catering offer, the Südtirol Home - a sustainably built hub for media, business and politics - and the Biathlon Gaudi Village in Anterselva are all part of it. Incidentally, the World Cup mascot is called "Bumsi", named after the sound made when shooting.
