Biathlon World Cup in Anterselva

At the end of January, the Anterselva Valley with its famous lake welcomes the stars of the international Biathlon scene

In 2026, the Antholz Biathlon Stadium will be a venue for the Winter Olympics: The biathlon competitions will take place in the Südtirol Arena Alto Adige, which has been modernised for the Games. The World Cup in Antholz will be organised again from 14 to 17 January 2027.

In addition to the biathlon champion that South Tyrol itself has to offer - Dorothea Wierer - numerous international sports stars come to the biathlon stadium in Anterselva, the South Tyrol Arena or SüdtirolArena, in January. The surrounding landscape usually presents itself as a winter paradise in brilliant white during these weeks. The country's largest winter sports centre offers 3,000 seats and thousands of standing places in the stadium and along the course.

The starting signal for the top sporting performance is given with the short men's or women's singles, followed by the second single, the single mixed relay and the mixed relay and finally the mass start. The event is divided into several days, with the award ceremony taking place at the weekend. The supporting programme is also impressive: Visitors' tent with live music, the new South Tyrol Home with South Tyrolean Speck, cheese and wine, and the big biathlon party every evening in the Biathlon Gaudi in Anterselva di Mezzo (Antholz Mittertal) are all part of it.
