Winter hiking path and sledge run Zallinger

There are not many places like the Zallinger at the foot of Mt. Sasso Piatto which can pride themselves on such an idyllic position

The starting point of our winter hike is the hamlet of Saltria on the Alpe di Siusi. The asphalt road passes the Hotel Floralpina after one kilometre and leads to the Tirler Mountain Hut and thus to the start of the sledge run, one of the toboggan runs in the Alpe di Siusi area. We follow the path no. 9 (later on no. 8 and 7) through the forest towards the Zallinger Hut.

The trail runs parallel to the slope of the Alpe di Siusi Skiing Area, which leads down from the Williams Mountain Hut. After a 90-minute walk we reach the Zallinger ensemble on a highland, made up of a renewed mountain hut and the idyllic Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.

The view opens up on the nearby Sassolungo Group and the peaks of the Catinaccio Group and the Sciliar Massif. After a stop we enjoy the sledge ride into the valley. Please note that helmets are mandatory on all toboggan runs in South Tyrol!
