In order to get to the starting point of this tour, we drive to Mezzaselva close to Fortezza village, where we take a left turn and traverse the bridge to Le Cave (Grasstein). We pass through the village and follow a narrow mountain road leading to a parking space (no vehicles from here).

Thought as autumn tour, this walk becomes a fabulous winter walk. After the first turn on the forested road, a path branches off towards the Pontelletto Mountain Hut (no. 14) which we follow, steeply across the forest. The rushing river and a little waterfall attract our attention. The further we walk, the more snow covers the landscape. We get back on the trail on which we started.

After a two-hours' walk, we reach the 1,784 m high Pontelletto Mountain Hut, in the background the Sarentino Alps. Unfortunately the mountain hut (Puntleider Alm) is only open in summer months, but we brought a packed lunch. For the way back we take the same route. On the path no. 14 you can also walk to beautiful Lake Pontelletto (Puntleider See), a mountain lake which is a popular destination in summer and autumn months, also as MTB tour.
