Acrobats enchant visitors and residents of San Candido for three days in July at the International Street Theatre Festival
For three decades, the OLALA International Street Theatre Festival has captivated its audience. For three days in July, acrobats, comedians, and street musicians perform with plenty of laughs, amazing tricks, and thrilling feats. A touch of magic is included, too.
The festival in San Candido in the Upper Val Pusteria is a partner of the International Street Theatre Festival in Lienz in the Austrian East Tyrol, just 40 kilometres from San Candido. There, in the town centre and on the Iselkai, all productions are free of charge, although tickets are required for some other shows: info@ummigummi.at. In 2026, the festival in San Candido will take place over three days for the first time. People are the art at the International Street Theatre Festival.
Consequently, the performances offer subtle social criticism, show great empathy and emotion, and encourage the audience to think and sometimes participate. In any case, the festival is an opportunity to enjoy the summer, celebrate, and bring people together.
