Alpine dairy Three Peaks

See cheesemaking up close at the Alpine dairy Three Peaks in the Upper Val Pusteria

In Dobbiaco village, directly on the Val Pusteria road, you'll find the Alpine dairy Three Peaks (Schaukäserei 3 Zinnen). This is where high-quality dairy products such as cream, ricotta, butter, and, of course, a wide selection of South Tyrolean mountain cheese are made. Try, for example, the renowned "Original Dobbiaco", the spicy alp cheese and the traditional "Dolomitenkaiser".

But how do the holes actually get into the cheese? The show dairy answers this and many other questions in its adjacent museum. The tour begins with insights into the production of cheese and butter. A film also shows you the daily life of South Tyrolean dairy farmers.

Afterwards, from the visitors' gallery, you can watch the cheesemaker at work and see live how top-quality fresh milk is transformed into premium cheese. You'll learn interesting facts about curdling, salting, maturing, storing, and refining. Afterwards, you can sample the various cheeses and take your favourites home from the Three Peaks Show Dairy shop.

How do you get to the show dairy and museum? They are located directly on the Val Pusteria road in Dobbiaco and have their own parking.
