Winter walk in the Valle di Plan

The wide high valley, stretching from Plan to Lazins, is very charming on a beautiful winter day.

From Moso in Passiria, there is a road leading to the parking space of Plan at 1,600 m a.s.l.. In the surroundings of the car-free village, there are the slopes of the small but mighty skiing area. We follow the path n°24 (Alta Via Meranese), leading us the way to the sunny side of the valley and the hamlet of Zeppichl. While the first km of walking was free from snow, now we follow the winter path to Lazins. By the way, this hamlet is also open in winter.

Following the course of the frozen river of Plan, we walk along the wide path to the Lazins pasture, up to the head of the valley, located at about 1,880 m asl, closed in winter. The cross-country ski track turns back towards Plan short before the mountain hut. And after a while, also we need to walk back to our starting point. From the Malga di Lazins to Lazins we follow the path on which we came, afterwards we stick to the right (signpost 8°), leading us back to Plan. The winter has transformed this quite valley into a real wonderland, away from hustle and bustle you can fully enjoy nature in this place.
