In Vandoies di Sopra, right by the World of Loden on the Val Pusteria road, a 1,000 sqm experience for cheese lovers awaits: the Capriz show dairy and shop. Here, you can visit the exhibition and tasting rooms and immerse yourself in the world of goat cheese. Capriz was the first dairy in South Tyrol to specialise entirely in goat cheese - with great success!
Everything here revolves around the goat and its cheese: Even the name, derived from "capra" (Italian for goat), reveals the theme. The building itself, designed by architect Stefan Gamper, resembles a piece of cheese on a copper kettle. Sustainable materials such as Swiss pine, copper, and glass characterise the architecture. The Dairy Adventure World Capriz (Capriz Erlebniskäserei) is divided into two areas: the interactive exhibition and the bistro.
On the ground and lower ground floors, interactive elements explain the journey from milking to cheese, from bacterial cultures to storage. Glass windows allow you to watch the cheesemaker at work. In the shop and bistro area, you can then sample various goat cheeses, from fresh cheese to white mould cheese to tangy hard cheese. At the World Cheese Awards in Wales in November 2022, where 4,000 different cheeses from over 40 countries were tasted, Capriz was a winner receiving two medals: for the hard cheese "Caprea" and the soft cheese "Carbonito".
How do you get there: You can reach the dairy from the Val Pusteria road near Vandoies di Sopra by turning off towards the World of Loden. Bus number 401 also stops right there.

The reported opening hours are those of the Capriz musuem and show dairy. Guided tours are available every day from 9 am to 7 pm for groups of at least 6 adults.
Capriz with its winery, museum and shop is open every day all year round.
Hamburgers and other dishes available at the Pims bistrot are prepared with Capriz cheese. Please check the opening hours in advance.
