The alpine summer in South Tyrol, from mid-June to mid-September, is full of possibilities and is the ideal time for tours at higher altitudes. These areas are now free of snow, and hikes to mountain huts or summit tours are perfect for exploring South Tyrol's mountain scenery.
Not all peaks are over 3,000 metres high - there are also easier ones which provide superb views. Alternatively, South Tyrol's lakes are a major attraction, known for their unique beauty. Many of them are located within one of South Tyrol's seven nature parks and are protected areas. In June and July, they are often framed by blossoming alpine roses.
